Why is the price a range?

Because cases vary. A single clear question with a short history costs less to answer well than a complex case with years of records and multiple imaging studies. You always get the exact price before you pay.

Is it refundable if the surgeon cannot help?

If we take your case on and then cannot provide a useful opinion, you get your money back. If we can see up front that it is not a case for us, we tell you before you pay anything.

Does pet insurance cover it?

Send what your vet said and quoted. A veterinary surgeon reads it and comes back to you with what they can do and what it would cost, before you pay anything. A written second opinion is from $250.

If the surgeon can't add anything useful to your case, they'll say so and there's no charge.
