Common questions

Is this a real consultation with a vet?

Yes. Your case is reviewed by Eben Martin, a registered veterinary surgeon. It is a written opinion on the information and records you provide rather than a physical examination, which is exactly what a second opinion on a surgical decision needs.

Can you prescribe medication or treat my pet?

No. Australian rules generally require a physical examination before prescribing, and treatment stays with your own vet. What we provide is an independent expert opinion you can act on with your treating vet.

What does it cost?

From $250, depending on how complex the case is and how much material there is to review. You get a confirmed price before you pay anything.

How is this different from the $49 online vet services?

Those services connect you to a general practice vet for everyday questions, and they are good at that. This is a surgeon reviewing a surgical decision: a different question, answered by the person qualified to answer it.
