Use a harness, never a collar, from now on, not just during recovery. Feed soft food in small portions; some gagging or a soft cough early is common as the palate site heals. Keep the house cool and boring for a fortnight. And know the escalation signs cold: loud worsening breathing, blue or grey gums, or distress at rest mean straight back to the hospital, immediately.
Regurgitation that persists or worsens after recovery deserves review rather than tolerance: reflux and airway disease feed each other in these breeds, and both are treatable.
